Arthritis
There are different types of arthritis but the most common is osteoarthritis which is caused by wear and tear and develops as we get older. Everyone over the age of 37 shows these degenerative changes on x-ray. It is completely normal for this aging process to happen but can mean our joints become stiff and achey.Simple steps you can take to help with arthritis:
- Make sure your desk-based assessment is up to date for your current situation. If you have pain you may need to change the way you are sitting or working at your desk space.
- Have regular desk breaks. It is recommended that you move every 20 minutes and this will stop you stiffening up too much.
- Research has shown that regular exercise doesn’t accelerate arthritis but does in fact mean you feel less pain in arthritic joints, so increase your exercise!
